Clear deep blue skies, white feathered fir trees and white powder snow make the area great for cross country skiing. The fir trees are known in Montana as Ghost Trees because of a heavy snowfall with no wind. Set against the beautiful clear blue sky, they appear as a group of ghosts. Chief Joseph Pass ski area sits atop the Continental Divide. The area is known for its gorgeous sights all year round for exploring the wonders of nature. This is a favorite photo of many folks. Mount Wilbur is located in the Lewis Range, Glacier National Park in the U.S. state of Montana. Plainly visible from the region of Many Glacier, the peak rises over 4,500 feet above Swiftcurrent Lake and is a steep pyramid on three sides. The elevation is 9,321 feet with hiking trails to Iceberg Lake and the Swiftcurrent Trail.
